SMF 1.0.7 and patch for 1.1 RC2 released

Where do I get the latest version (1.0.1) of Recent.template.php? It's indicated to update in my forum. The actual version is 1.0

Yes. Download the RC2 file on the download page and follow the instructions in the readme.

There's probably not been any changes to that file since 1.0.1 so it's version number didnt get updated to say 1.0.7... I think.

Same if i put 777 in all the folder and files concerned, i got this problem when i try to patch by the package manager:

You cannot download or install new packages because the Packages directory or one of the files in it are not writable!

what's the problem please?

I just set up a new SMF board and wanted to upload the latest version. In my package manager, I read this:
A bbc security issue has been identified in SMF 1.0.5. You can install this patch (click here to install) to easily update yourself to the latest version.

When I click there, it asks me where I want to put the file index.php. Then nothing happens. I get this also when clicking the other link to this patch found on the same page. I believe this index.php file is from the theme modification I was trying to upload. I ended up completely deleting that theme modification from both the admin board and from my pc.

What am I doing wrong??

If your using smf 1.0.5 can I suggest uploading smf 1.1 rc2 or even smf 1.0.7 I think doing this would be alot easier.

The 1.0.7 update package on the downloads page will do what you are looking for It's probably a server configuraton problem.

Can someone tell me which package I need to download? I am running 1.0.6 and I have the "safe mode on" problem, so I need to do it manually.

If you have any problems applying it, you can use the version posted on the downloads page - although, any modifications you have installed will need to be uninstalled. Please post on the forum if you need more help.

However, when I click to install the patch, some files cannot be modified:

1.     Executar modificação     ./Sources/QueryString.php     Falha
2.    Executar modificação    ./Sources/Search.php    Falha
3.    Executar modificação    ./Sources/Poll.php    Falha

How can I apply the patch?

ok i am running 1.07 now and considering going to RC2 to allow more links on side of forums can anyone tell me if it would start fresh ?change my settings ? for new board or after update i just d/l would just change board itself? thanks in advance

works absolutely like a charm !!! update from 1.0.7 to 1.1.rc2. this is the first time when my forum does not get screwed up after a upgrade. i was having nightmares with modded phpbb going nuts ! thank you !!!

As long as you download the upgrade package for RC2, then it shouldnt change your settings, rather, it'll add a whole bunch of new ones for you to play with.

You can not change from 1.0 to 1.1 in the Package manager, you have to upload the files manually in your FTP.

but how can i upload via FTP when it is so tedious and there are many different folders on the server where my SMF is located. I run the risk of having a total corruption of everything....truly its a shame that this is so difficult...
