Attachments can not be viewed

Can someone please help me?

I have a clean 2.1.4 forum installed. I can upload threads with attachments but I cant view the attachments.
When I click on it, I get an error message:

Error: connection interrupted
the connection to the server was set back while loading the page.

thank you so much for your help, we are using SMF for non profit only with our club.

the error suggests that something may be misconfigured on your server

This isn't related to the Smf. The most common reason for the connection to the server was interrupted error is network or local connectivity issue.

thank you guys. It is a new installation without any mods. I did also not get an error message while or after installing, everything smooth. Hoster is a reliable host in Germany. The only thing is it is not https. I am running wordpress since years on same server without any trouble. Will check with the host company, maybe they have an idea.
