Forum AWard System Ideas?

Hi All and Seasons Greetings 

I'm a member of a "D" forum, that has a built in awards system and am considering implementing something similar as a member post/engagement insentive.

I'd start of installing a suitable mod that gives the ability to assign awards to members. That's the easy part. But, apart from number of posts and member activity (last active), their doesn't appear to any ability to build statistical reports.

Any constructive suggestion/ideas fore awards and how to stat them would be most appreciated!

I have a paid addon https://www.smfhacks.com/badgeawards.php that I built for same thing. I compute the actions when a person does them.

1) Can the term "badges" be changed to awards?
2) Can you tailor the images for each award and the decriptor?
3) can you turn awards on or off?

I think The anwser is yes to all 3 but for 1 you might need to edit the language file

To Some extent but my members were more interested in the chart data and recently i put my site into maintenance so I could finish the more complex updates, It's only just been activated for viewing, but it hasn't been for new member yet.

To be honest, I think it's really worth having, as members can engage in discussions about awards if you give them a topic to do so.

And you can create custom awards and give members them which could lead to another topic you create letting members know who's been given what award, or they could receive them for xx points.

thats the way I intend using them once fully back online.

ps just had another look at the new badge settings you can send a pm but there's no option to create a topic for some awards

All that is possible. For SMF 2.1 you get the alerts with the badge icon.
You can also create your own awards to hand out.
