how about makeing an option in admin panel to

a:email admin
b:email mod
c: post to a specific board

If anything can anyone post a way to get the form to go to a specific board, this is what I'm looking for

rsw686

Wouldn't it be better to just allow guests to post on a specific board. How would the guest know their contact form submission went to that board and how would they see the response. With the contact forum all the webmaster has to do is email the guest back.

Maybe to make the post private but viewable by admins/mods kinda like a job application. With specific fields/format you want to use.

Can anyone make a version which works with 1.1.5 please?

Gene Steinberg

Two problems:

1. I get a generic icon in my the navigation bar of my theme with this installed. I used the Classic rather than the Default and I think (hope) that I moved the proper stuff over.

2. Why can't we get this Contact Form to work for registered users who have a question about the site? It seems a waste to make it half active.

Suggestions?

Peace,
Gene

Can we get this working so we can have it post to a board of my choosing?  I'm looking to use this as more as an application form.

Gene Steinberg

I see posting here is probably a waste, as there's still no meaningful response.

Peace,
Gene

Hi,

What do i have to change to get the contactform mod 1.0 working only for users logged in?

Thx a lot

At that point can't they just send a PM.  The contact form will work when logged in. It just doesn't show on the menu. To make it show change the

         'contact' => array(
            'title' => $txt['contact'],
            'href' => $scripturl . '?action=contact',
            'show' => $user_info['is_guest'],

If you only want it shown to logged in put a ! in front of $user_info. If you always want it show replace the $user_ifno['is_guest'] with true.

How about doing this in English?

Which file are we talking about and where are we searching?

Since the author is AWOL, evidently, how about someone else helping me? :)

Peace,
Gene

lazanya

because I have Turkish database(utf-8) I can't see it in the menu. When I changed it into English it works

works great in smf 1.1.5 ;)

When I try following the manual instructions it does not work.  Also it says to add the contact.php and contact.template.php but those files aren't listed.

It does not work with beta 4 :)
There is no need to think or choose . just smf

Seems to have gone in okay, and the tab appears, but it can't be accessed by people not logged in which sort of defeats the purpose. The mod does not seem to show up in Permissions. Pray tell where might one configure this mod? Thanks! :)

Just ignore that or install the contact page mod

Hello rsw686,

I've just installed this mod on my forum SMF 2.0 RC3 and works fine. Thx rsw686!

Shambles

Just to confirm this mod works fine with 2.0.2, after making a small change to the 'is_last' array element in the register menu button control [in the mod package] prior to installation :)

I know the quoted request is quite old, but I had the same requirement and added the IP address to the message header as follows:

Add ",$user_info" to the set of variables listed in the function's "global" declaration in contact.php, then

Find:
Subject: {$_post['subject']}

Add after:
IP: {$user_info['ip']}
