Converting phpbb 2.0.22 to SMF

I've tried dozens of times to upgrade my phpBB 2.0.22 setup to SMF, but every time it fails when converting the posts, with Duplicate entry '5683' for key 1

The message it fails on changes on each attempt, sometimes it fails on the first few messages, other times it almost gets to the end and then fails....

Can anyone help? Before I pull out the little bit of hair I have left!!
