Several Boards with the same Members?

Hi

I have installed several boards, which use the same design and which all belong to my website, but which have different discussion topics (e.g. Stem Cell Research, Badminton, ...) and refer to different MySQL-table-prefixes (smf_, smf2_, smf3_, smf4_ and so on). Until now,  my website's visitors had to register several times (once on each board) if they wanted to get access to all the boards. This is, of course, a lot of work.

So I would like to ask if there is any possibility to install the SMF Boards with some modifications so that users must register only once but can login in each discussion board?

I have tried to replace "{$db_prefix}members" with "smf_members", and it almost worked, but the numbers of registered members displayed on the Index-Page and on the Members-Page was wrong.

Do you have any idea what I could try?

You will need to recount totals afterward... and also, most likely, do the same thing with im_recipients and instant_messages.

What is wrong with using one large forum with several boards and child boards?
