Recent posts to the top

I looked for a mod but it doesn't seem to exist for version 2.1.x
I would like to move recent posts to the top.

That's a profile option.  You can set it for all members in Current Theme > Member Options.

to the the forum on WHAT SCREEN?

MessageIndex (inside each board)?  That's how it works by default.
Post (inside each individual post/thread)?  That's the setting that you were pointed to

BoardIndex (the forum main page)?   Topics are not shown on that page -- that page shows boards with the most recent post excepted.
