Admin Login Failed

Hi, out of the blue, Admin login showing this:  Token verification failed.

User and Pass are 100% ok

Any idea?

Version 2.1 RC 4

Update: After upgrading to 2.1.1, what went well, same issue by admin login.
then i tried to login with the upper right login-part, and it went well.

but still many token verification errors if admin try to empty logs for example, or some other changes.

i also saw, that there is a language package conflict, it seems like.
Language files seems still on      2.0.12 and not 2.1.1
each attempt to load up a 2.1.1 language file, failed, i tried also to unpack the new language file and loaded it up with ftp, not recognized from smf.

even if i try Add-Language, Version 2.1.1 found, try to install, token error

Register new User's impossible, also other changes impossible

Tried firefox and Chrome and others
Do 2x a Update to 2.1.2

Nothing helps

Bump old Topic? How so? Many answers on this sure Bug, not mine alone.

Any suggestions would be appreciated how to solve that.

And btw, no mods, no nothing, plain and out of the box SMF 2.12

It hadn't gotten a message in 2 months - so it's an old topic getting bumped.

And this is a generic error message, there is absolutely *no* guarantee any of the suggestions in this topic would help, which is why making your own topic with all the relevant details in would have been better.

Over a year i face this TOKEN VERIFICATION FAILED Issue now, nothing helped, updated up to 2.14...
At the moment my Forum is unusable, eben registered members get this Token Failed if they try to login.

Even registered member can not login anymore...Token Verificaton failed..

Admin, me, try to change something, no matter what...token verification failed..it looks like it spreaded throughout the whole board now..

Do you have multiple tabs open while you work?

If so, that can create token issues.

Tokens help ensure folks don't steal admin update capabilities, eg, via back tabbing.  If you have multiple tabs open, the other tab can update the token, rendering your other tab's token stale.

When doing admin tasks, especially repetitive ones, stick to one tab & window. 

Meaning of that? you meant Board tab/window or in general???

Please don't hijack other people's topics (again). Just because the error message is identical doesn't mean you're both having the exact same problem. Maybe your topic has been overlooked back then. Have you tried repair_settings?

Re: token issues: every time you open an admin page (in a new tab or window, doesn't matter), the admin token is refreshed (that's a protection against replay attacks and the like).

Sky23 --   do not hijack other people's topics.   What we ask and suggest in THOSE threads may or may not be related to YOUR issue.   While you can always TRY the suggestions for resolution in those other threads, if you continue to have problem, then you need to post in your own thread (HERE!!).
