Display Forum Number of Posts/Threads/Registered Users

Hi,

I would like to display the number of forum posts, threads and registered users which we have on my forum on the Homepage.

To gather an understanding of what I am looking to achieve go to my site.. http://www.theseoforums.com/.
At the top on the homepage is a lot of content, below this I would like to have text stating:

We currently have.. * Posts, * Threads, * Members.

I understand HTML and have the basic knowledge of PHP, but everything I have done seems to have not worked.

Could anyone help?

You have SimplePortal installed - why not use their built-in "Board Statistics" block, or look at that block code and extract the bits you want?

Could do, I'll have a look at this.
I may be able to take the PHP code from the block and use else where
