I've been running version 1.1.19. Friday night June 20, it started that clicking a link in the forum, threw the server Error 500.
The server admin theorized that an auto cpanel/php update caused this.
The phpinfo file does show that the build date is indeed June 20th.
The server admin theorized that the ver 1.1.19 was to old, and I needed to upgrade. I did, to 2.0.8.
Links did then work in the forum. I figured all was well. Until I went to post, then got the same error 500.
I then researched, then found to add a php.ini file, which I then did in the forum directory.
php_flag register_globals off
This then did away with the Error 500 when posting.
I went back to a clean install of ver 1.1.19. Still could not click a link. I added the php.ini into it. It then worked fine.
I related this to the server admin, and asked if this was going to cause issues. He stated no, as it is not showing up in server logs.
But, he stated, it should not work, as "php_flag register_globals off" is not supported in PHP ver PHP 5.4 http://www.php.net//manual/en/security.globals.php [nofollow]
Can anybody explain the why or what? I am far from being a server admin!

Thanks, Tom

Just a thought (I could be worng)

But, maybe it's the location of php.ini that's your problem.

Your info file suggests that it's in /home/******/public_html/records/php.ini

(Assuming that you can access that)

So, the one that you put in the forum directory isn't being used.
