Converting Error - same database, different directory

Here is the error I am getting:

Sorry, the database connection information used in the specified installation of SMF cannot access the installation of phpBB2. This may either mean that the installation doesn't exist, or that the MySQL account used does not have permissions to access it.

The error MySQL gave was: select command denied to user: '[email protected]' for table 'phpbb_users'

The installation of SMF was flawless, but converting has been hell. I have read dozens of posts here and many are similar to my problem but I have had no luck. This installation is on a shared server which I have database access to via Enterprise Manager. I have access to files through FTP and host's cPanel.

I am confident that the Path to SMF, Path to phpBB2 and SMF database password are correct.

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

In this case the username for your phpbb database must be the same as the one for SMF. If they are both installed on the one database i dont see what the problem is.
