Is there any way to Completely REMOVE the Smileys from the site?
I was able to remove the second set that was an option but the Default doesn't have a DELETE option.

Why?
When in Emor, do as the Snamors.

I need as little distractions as possible.  I'm using this for some quite elderly individuals to  just schedule events and the less activity they have on the screen, the better. I need a professional, not so busy screen for them to be looking at. They also take up too much room if you don't want to use them.

Try adding the following to the END of the following file:

./Themes/default/css/jquery.sceditor.css
div.sceditor-insertemoticon {
    display: none;
}

This doesn't remove smileys from your site but it does hide them in the editor ...

Alternatively in the smileys area set them all to hidden. Then none of them show on the editor, and you don't even need to change the code.
Holder of controversial views, all of which my own.

Just discovered that the 'Smileys' setting 'Enable customized smileys' has to be enabled before smileys can be hidden - if this setting is not enabled you cannot add or edit smileys or change the order in which they are displayed.
