In my opinion, it is very unlikely that you will run into more SMF patches issues with 2.1.x themes. Additional patches that are theme/layout related will probably be minimal or not as intrusive as it happened before 2.1.4 patch.

In any case, you can always request support and hope someone can come up with a solution, worst case scenario you switch to another theme I guess.

That sounds reassuring. It's a nice theme and we will use it for our transition from SMF 2.0.x to 2.1.x.
