how do I take a post and make a new topic

ummmm..... somebody posted a reply to one of my topics, I want to take that post and reply to it with quotes but as a new topic with a new subject, because I want to start a new trend based on that post in a new topic...

How do I do that?

Just split it from the other topic. You will be given the option to change the subject when you do so.

Which version SMF as this is the wring forum for support topics.

This forums... a message posted on this site, let me see.... reply, add poll, notify, mark as unread, send this topic, print.... ummm... no split, I guess I have to use copy paste....

No, not on this site you can't.

If you would like for a post to be split. Use the "Report to moderator" feature and someone who can, will split it for you.

will hitting the report to moderator button give me an option to add the request "could you please split this for me and give the new topic this subject?"
