some thoughts

i think ssi related language files should be gathered in one language file.

eg. for default theme
me was searching for the "are new" from the ssi_welcome() include.
Took me like 20 mins to figure it is in index.english.php

i still looking for teh classic language files....

The SSI functions use the same texts/consts as the templates. What you are suggesting is duplicating items with the concequence that maintainance on the language files, including translations, would become much more work.

A theme CAN use custom language files. Look in the language folder under the theme (classic). If a file is not present, the one from the default theme is used.

I done this i edited the index.english.php
Their are 4 messages related with the ssi_welcome() function i edited them all - but it still shows the old "are new" message.
I deleted browser cache and checked with diffrent browser types.

So i were confused cause after this want help i started searching for the other language file - which wht i know now is not present cause use same.

Anyway thx

Does it change on the forum, at all?  Or does it change on neither?

If it changes on neither, you may be using a theme with its own language files, or you may have your paths set strangely.

Thank you for this "hint"

The problem is based on a second installation where i changed the bbs location folder.

When i done this i edited manually over the admin area the theme and all linkage related  settings ( using old database from 1st installation).

Anyway thx and next time i install "clean"

have a nice weekend!   :)
