Scribbles is a new theme based on a concept of a notebook. It has a new feature called "custom pages" which works by adding a topmenu that reflects your extra php/html files. These are added to your "pages" folder inside Scribbles theme and can be added as a list in "current theme settings".
Graphics are free to use in a SMF context.

Tryed it, looks 100x100 avatars not fit in to the bar, it go outside lower side? News text is blurry and doesnt show up clear?

Thanks, Bloc, i downloaded this theme and installed , but the main boards are a little wider than the childs boards,does that default ? User may modify child boards as wide as the mother boards?
And Scribbles don't compatible with Ad Managment Mod( 2.3 ). :'(
I applied Ad Managment Mod 2.3, added some ads zones, but the ads don't show up . :'(

Thats probably because the mod changes a template which also Scribbles changes for itself. Look at the documentation for that mod and find out what template(s) are changed, then remove that from Scribbles theme - to see if it works then.

Just go ahead and change it. :) For personal use on your site(s) you can do anything with it.

I checked both of the two ad mod template under default theme and scribbles theme, no template been changed under default theme.:(
Don't know why ad mod can't use.
Maybe it changes the index.template - in which you must do the same changes to Scribbles index.template.php.

Yes, just found that the default index.template.php file is 28.1 Kb,but scribble index.template.php file file is 26.2Kb, i copied former file ,uploaded&covered the latter one ,then Scribbles don't show as it should be,the worse thing is ad management mod doesn't work either.

I have but one request: An Image replacement from register to invite would be excellent for use with the invite only mod set.
In time I might make my own side bar (keeping theme credit to yourself of course)
I have noticed though that there are a couple of glitches when hovering over items to clip the bottom of others (mainly reg clipping lower login). That's a tiny thing though.
After this and Wiki Style I am looking forward to more sidebar based themes with a full admin page to manage the sidebar (being a lazy git)

It might be missing langauge strings, I am working on ironing out any glitches.
The blocks? You mean the fileds to add more links/pages on top? Have alook at the suppliee "about" page, it explains everything there.

If you really need a change to Display.templatem try taking it out altogehter from Scribbles, so you can use your modded default Display.template.

Ok, I fixed it. I created a folder "german-utf8" in scribble images and put all images from "english" sub into it.
GREAT theme, Bloc. Do the standard gallery packages work with it, or have you tried that yet?

I have two questions.
How do I activate the gallerey image to work on rollover. I have installed a smf gallery, but I had to make a link on the top.
Also, any word on the ad management? I installed it but yet to figure out how to make it work with this theme.

I absolutely adore this theme and will heart broken if I can not fix my problem and use this theme!!
I have installed 2 times and still can not get the images (print, mark post read, etc) to show up. All I get are red X's. Icons like: MEMBERS, FORUM STATS AND USERS ONLINE do show up, though.
This is a clean install (well one is).

this might be similar to the problem i'm having with new BBC code i've installed.
i've installed the 'SPOILER' and 'YOUTUBE' tags and because scribbles doesn't appear to have a post.template.php file in it's theme, it's not picking up the correct button icons, so when you post a new message, you just get the word "YOUTUBE" instead of the graphic.
i'm tempted to copy the default post.template.php into the scribbles directory just to see what it does but i'm afraid i might kill it :D
is there another solution to integrating these mods into the theme as it's the main theme for my whole site?
well, for the record, i copied the post.template.php file from the default directory into the scribbles directory and it made no difference.

Copy over the template won't work..in fact its just the opposite: if a theme doesn't use a template, it will fallback on default theme..and that one HAS been modded. The missing buttons is due to you needing to copy any new buttons/images in default theme(from the mod) to Scribbles folder as well.

i would have thought it's easy - in theory.
what i did last night is to create an 'arcade' button by basically editing the other graphics for the buttons and cutting and pasting each letter i needed. it was quick and dirty, but it did the job.
and then i edited the index.template.php file and searched for every occurence of 'calendar' and duplicated it, replacing the word 'calendar' with the word 'arcade'.
i thought that if the side menu was created with an array loop, then it would pick up the fact that there was an extra option and find the appropriate graphic for it, and let you use the link.
not so, unfortunately.
actually, i've just thought. would it be easier to use the button on the top of the forum that provides you with a link to a custom page?
how easy would that be to rename to 'arcade' and link to the appropriate action ?

images link to a different image on each board? If you guys/gals are not sure what I'm talking about, the orbs image right next the each board on the left. How it stays (gray) if there is no new post, and (blue-ish) if there are new posts.
So as an example..
Board1 points to image1 (gray) & image1a (blue)
Board2 points to image2 (gray) & image2a (blue)
etc.

The template has worked flawlessly for me since installation - no errors.

Our forum is having some troubles with the buttons at the top of the forum page where "Mark as Read / Reply / Print" etc options are. The graphics appear to be missing and all we get are boxes with the dreaded Red X.

if you look at the code you see the gallery bit is commented out, so just remove thsoe // in front of the lines. You need to change the link of course, the "href" part but then it should work.

Edited to Add:In the forum errors log this is the error we get: Unable to load the 'ThemeStrings.english-utf8' language file.
Try to copy a file named ThemeStrings.english.php inside Themes/Scribbles/Languages and name the new one just ThemeStrings.english-utf8.php.
If you use utf8 all language files needs to be on that format and have the "-utf8" extension in the name.
I saved the "about.template.php" as "orientation.template.php", and was careful to only re-write the content to reflect what I wanted it to; (orientation-type info).
I then went to "current theme's settings" and to the place where the existing pages are listed, added a little pipe character (no spaces), and the words: "orientation,Watch the Video".
When I hit the "Save" button, the theme reverts back to the classic theme, and the new page doesn't seem to "take"; that is, after I change back to the Scribbles theme.
I wondered what the little textbox below the textbox in question was, so I tried entering my new page title there.
Now when I try to edit the main index.temp[late.php from within the browser interface, I get an error message saying the file I want isn't even there!
And even though, as admin, I can change back and forth between themes, I still don't see the new page being listed among the other custom pages whenever I'm in the Scribbles theme.
(Oh, I guess a pertinent piece of information here would be the fact that I'm using SMF1.0.8 because I'm afraid to upgrade just yet.)
Thats the reason it won't save anything - this theme is not made for 1.0.8.
You either need to upgrade to 1.1.2 or just not using the custom pages feature.

no, it doesn't..I haven't translated it yet. But beware that I am making a Scribbles 2, where translations won't be necessary.

Yes, by going to your profile and turn it on, under layout and options. Its not special to this theme, but you have to turn the feature on every theme.

All I did was drop this into the global header. You have to change the link to your site's links:

"global_header"? What is that?
If you have either Ultimate Shoutbox or Tinyportal(with shoutbox-in-a-block) mods installed, the theme have support for those two - but you need to turn that on in "admin /current theme settings".
I am working on creating a forum and I love the scrapbooking look for scribbles. I really would like enjoy having a chat room. Does anyone know what chat will work with this. I have looked into chatbox but you can only type limited amt of words each time. Tinyportal I see is also mentioned but I don't want to have to incur any extra expense. I"m at a loss, can someone help???

Tinyportal is free - in case you worry about expenses.
As for Chat, there area few Chat mods out, but Scribbles prob need some modifications to work with those.

When I installed in my SMF server 1.1.6, the buttons are not showing up and they all seem to be present in the install directory.

Thanks for that new version of scribbles (i've just found it out). I've been working with first version since the last 10 days and trying to costumize it. I've modified images on lateral menu (spanish) and changed the logo (scribbles) but having problems in installing some mods. Will try to resolve my own if not, will be back, :P
