Yesterday, I incorporated a script that counts the number of members currently viewing the gallery, blog, and arcade. I put these numbers into a bubble above each link. Could you tell me your thoughts whether it looks cheesy, nice, or perhaps the colour scheme could be altered to make it less flashy.

Absolutely, still waiting on more opinions. Personally, I think it's too flashy. I would love to change the color scheme.

i dont think many will know what the numbers actually mean. they may think it is number of blogs etc instead of number of people in that area.

I thought about that too. Do you think adding a title= html attribute will help?

I used abbr attribute to give them mini titles. Hope that helps point and click users.

I like it. However, the shadow for the icons don't seem to match with the overall look of the theme. Maybe stick with the same border that the theme is using.

No they seem fine. I am talking about the shadow on the Blog, Gallery and Arcade icons. I think that they would look better with the shadow removed and add the same border as the overall theme. Which seems to be;

Since no other part of the theme has a shadow, the icon shadows just seem out of place.

i think its a good idea for your site and def worthy of tips and tricks, maybe also changing background color to something more blue maybe
