I noticed a user that came out of no were and i dont advertise my forum . The name is smftesac23 , something told me to google it and every single smf based forum that came up suddenly has this user . All smf forums so far that i looked at have this guy registered. Is this some kind of bot ? I figured it could be a bug since Only smf forums seem to be affected  .

It seems to be ( According to Stop Forum Spam DB ) a Ukrainian spambot.
The name seems to refer to smf, so it is just probably configured to only target smf forums.

The Stop Forum Spam DB has the following entries on smftesac23

yup did a Ripe Search and seems this is a bot registering on all open forums .

watch out for this one guys make sure you got the anti bot package installed. I just put it on now so all should be good now .

For now it seems to be using only one e-mail address, which is kind of strange, but luckily that makes it easy to ban the bot before you ever get to see it. ;)
